Treatment Philosophy: "My goal with every patient is to empower by bringing about more awareness of his or her own body. Pain brings most people in and is my focus for treatment; however, through a series of appointments, my goal is to bring a greater harmony and balance to every Body, thus promoting better sleep, improved digestion, increased energy, and an equanimous mental state only possible through a well-harmonized system."
Biography
James grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and studied Mechanical Engineering at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon graduating, James moved abroad to Germany to work for a telecommunications company. There, James fell in love with the curiosities of the world and found a deep desire to see more of it.
After years abroad and explorations stateside, James finally found his home in Bend and his calling as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine. Beginning his studies in 2009 at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, James found an interest in bodywork. In 2011, he received his massage license and started Evolutionary Bodyworks - later to become Evolutionary Medicine - as he continued his studies of Chinese Medicine. Upon graduating from OCOM in 2014, James continued to expand his practice, eventually moving his family to Bend in 2016.
James has a tremendous love of the outdoors, and in his spare time enjoys running, biking, skiing, hiking, and camping. He lives with his wife, April, and two young boys, Silas and Asher, in Midtown.
